Officially Shahid Afridi Announced His Retirement From Peshawar Zalmi


Dubai: After two successful seasons with PSL Peshawar Zlami, the all rounder player Shahid Afridi announced his ways with the team, noting that he will join a new team before the next season of the professional league.Afridi wrote late on Friday night that the PSL team would leave Peshawar Zalmi for personal reasons. However, he did not explain them in more detail.

“I have won the Cup with one team, from time to time, and I announce my termination as president and player of Peshawar Zalmi for personal reasons,” the former Pakistani captain said on Twitter on Friday.”My best wishes are with Peshawar and with respect to Peshawar, I have to know that they are with me wherever I go,” he said.

Afridi’s announcement of ways with Peshawar Zalmi came as a surprise to many, including concessionaire Javed Afridi.”I am not fully aware of what happened,” Javed said when asked to comment on the matter.

Afridi Peshawar Zlami led the first edition of the professional league but lost the captain’s role after he was appointed Franchise president before the second edition and the captain handed over to Darren Sammy.
